Seattle, WA, September 8, 2026 -- Fast Company today announced its eighth annual Best Workplaces for Innovators list, recognizing businesses that are creating cultures where innovation thrives at every level. Stanley 1913 earned a spot for disrupting the traditional drinkware category and turning functional gear into an essential lifestyle accessory and symbol of personal identity, powered by continuous investments in its people, facilities, and sustainable design.

The recognition underscores Stanley 1913's ongoing momentum with Fast Company, following its previous inclusion on the publication's 2023 Brands That Matter list for transforming an everyday utility into a global cultural phenomenon.

The 2026 Best Workplaces for Innovators list recognizes 100 companies across industries such as entertainment, biotech, consumer packaged goods, marketing, education, and healthcare. To be considered, applicants detailed their investment in innovation, internal programs, and company culture. Fast Company’s editors evaluated each application and conducted extensive research to develop a score for each company. A distinguished panel of judges then reviewed the top-rated companies to determine the final honorees.

Being recognized as one of the Best Places to Work for Innovators is a true reflection of our culture and the incredible people who make it a reality,” says Kat Schoewe, VP, Product Innovation & Design. Our 100+ year heritage of building durable products is powered entirely by our teams. With so many breakthrough design and engineering efforts in the pipeline, this recognition is just the beginning.”

Central to Stanley 1913’s evaluation was the company's accelerated transition toward sustainable manufacturing. Recognizing that raw materials account for the largest share of the product’s environmental footprint, the brand’s sustainability, engineering, sourcing, and product development teams collaborated to scale the use of recycled materials across its portfolio.

Through supplier collaboration, material testing, and manufacturing innovation, t the majority of the brand’s drinkware units have successfully converted to recycled stainless steel.  In the past year, recycled stainless steel was utilized in 81% of drinkware units produced, significantly surpassing the company’s earlier target of reaching 50% by 2025. This shift alone is estimated to have avoided roughly 64,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions in a single year.

“The most innovative workplaces don’t simply ask their employees to come up with great ideas; they create the conditions that make great ideas possible,” says Brendan Vaughan, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. “This year’s honorees understand that innovation is ultimately a cultural commitment that requires empowering people to think differently, take risks, and turn ideas into actions. We’re proud to recognize the companies and executives who are leading by example.”

Since inventing the all-steel vacuum bottle in 1913, the brand has continually created functional gear—from supporting WWII pilots in the 1940s to deep-sea explorers in the 1960s to creating the iconic, daily essential Quencher®. Today, the brand seamlessly integrates technical engineering, sustainable solutions, and unique color, material, and finish execution to deliver real value for consumers and the planet. Most recently, Stanley 1913 unveiled an industry first: the Clutch Bottle, building on the industry-first non-round, double-walled, vacuum-insulated technology first introduced with the Cross Bottle. Designed around the concept of 'wearable hydration’, the product represents what’s possible when innovation is pursued.
