Take Back is our way of helping our customers let go of their steel and stainless steel Stanley 1913 drinkware and food containers when the time is right. Return your eligible used products to us, and we'll make sure their steel and stainless steel components are recycled responsibly.
As our way of saying thanks, for each eligible Stanley 1913 product you recycle, you get a 10% discount code to use on a future purchase at Stanley1913.com (up to four per year and subject to complete Take Back program terms). We’ll also make a $10 donation to Ocean Conservancy for each eligible item received – up to a maximum of $200,000 per year. Nice!
Take Back is only available in the Continental United States. (The emissions profile of individual shipments from Alaska and Hawaii would exceed that of local disposal.) But we hope to add more regions in the future.
Take Back accepts all Stanley products in which the main product body is steel or stainless steel. And we’ll say it because this is a FAQ, after all: the return must include the product body.
We aren’t able to accept non-Stanley products, non-steel products (such as hard and soft coolers), accessories, and partial items. Find out more here.
Unfortunately, we are unable send back any ineligible items to you.
This is one of our favorite parts! Once we receive your item, it is disassembled at our recycling partner’s US facility. The parts and materials are sorted and eligible steel or stainless steel components are sent to be recycled. (We’ll also make an attempt to responsibly dispose of non-steel accessories.)
Who knows what it will become next? We bet it will be something great.
When completing the recycling return submission form online, the shipping’s on us. You have a few choices:
Option 1: Package your eligible Stanley 1913 drinkware and food containers then print out and affix the shipping label to the box. Drop it off at any UPS drop location.
Option 2: If you don’t have a printer - no problem! You can package your eligible Stanley 1913 drinkware and food containers yourself and bring your QR Code to any of UPS Store drop points and they’ll handle the rest.
Option 3: Go boxless at one of our handy drop points. You don’t need to package it or print a label. Just bring the eligible Stanley 1913 drinkware or food container with your QR code to any of the UPS Store drop points and we'll handle the rest. You can show the QR code on your phone or print it out.
We love that you are recycling your Stanley 1913 drinkware and food containers. As a reward and thanks, you’ll receive a 10% Stanley1913.com discount code for each eligible item you send to us through the program (up to 4 per year and subject to complete Take Back program terms).
