Tell us how you're able to be a creator, builder or inventor in this role?
I think being on a relatively small team allows me to be autonomous and have a lot of ownership over my work. There is a lot of freedom in using different art styles in my work while still maintaining an essence of who we are as a brand. The collaborative nature of my team allows ideas to flow and if it comes from someone else, I’m able to catch it and run with it while the team supports me as I bring ideas to life.
What's your favorite Stanley product? Why?
My favorite product is the 30oz flip straw Iceflow tumbler. The handle makes it easy to carry around, fits in the cup holder for on-the-go and feels like just the right size for ease of use throughout the day.
Life at Stanley is...
A relay race. We're all moving at the speed of light, but we know that our teammates are waiting for us to ensure smooth handoffs on our way to the win! "Finish line" metaphorically meaning hitting our goals (personal, fiscal, etc.) but also meaning the journey itself. Pushing the boundaries of innovation, expanding our brand voice and implementing new tools of our respective trades to push the company, and each other as individuals, forward.
What brought you to Stanley? What keeps you here?
The pandemic shook my life up (as it did to the rest of the world) and put me on a path that led me to Stanley. What keeps me here is absolutely the team I get to work with each and every day. Pound for pound: I would put this team up against any other. I have the privilege of working with talented, tenacious, kind and hilarious artists (looking at you Josh!)
What inspires you? (inside of work, outside of work)
I find inspiration from peoples’ stories. I love being inquisitive, understanding people's history, patterns of behavior, what drives them. I think stories and sharing experiences with people is the meat of life. Maya Angelou once said “We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value.”
How does Stanley give you opportunities to keep pushing yourself, to grow and explore?
What’s really cool about my team at Stanley is that no one guards their ideas. I recently contributed to a photoshoot by suggesting a certain model for it. Because I was empowered to share my idea, I got to come out to the photoshoot and help with set design, directing models during the shoot, and capturing the content we needed. Even though that is not technically part of my job description, because Stanley empowers and gives everyone a voice, I was able to explore a different aspect of the creative team.
